CAROLLING AND A CHRISTMAS CAROL
Friday, December 21 at the Gravenhurst Opera House.. Songs of the season sing-a-long at 6:30pm. Then nestle in for a professional reading performance of Charles Dickens’ classic ‘A Christmas Carol’ adapted by William Colgate. STARRING Richard Binsley, Robin Clipsham, Joan Bendon, Alyssa LaPlume, Steven Jacklin and Michele Ineson. Seating is limited to 70.

A PORTAGE FLYER CHRISTMAS – EVENING TRAIN RIDE TO SANTA
Saturday, December 22 at Muskoka Heritage Place, Huntsville. 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. (last train leaves at 7:30 pm). $5.00 per person (child or adult). Parking at the Huntsville High School, Canada Summit Centre, Active Living Centre or directly across the street from the event. No advance ticket sales or reserve seating. Arrive and enjoy complimentary hot chocolate and cookies (while supplies last) and purchase your tickets enroute to boarding.

CHRISTMAS CAROLLING AND CHARLES DICKENS’ “A CHRISTMAS CAROL”
Saturday, December 22 at the JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskoka Resort & Spa, Minett. This presentation is in partnership with Muskoka Chautuaqua. Gather around the piano with songs of the Yuletide Season from 3:30pm to 4:00pm (song sheets supplied.). Enjoy some apple cider or the cash bar. At 4pm nestle in as our professional actors perform a STAGE READING of William Colgate’s adaptation of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol”. Enjoy this rendition with all its colourful characters brilliantly brought to life by Dick Binsley (of “Mama Mia” on Broadway fame), Joan Bendon, Robin Clipsham, Alyssa LaPlume, Michele Ineson and Steven Jacklin as Scrooge! The performance runs 60 minutes. Seating is limited to 75.

TORCHLIGHT PARADE
Monday, December 24. At Hidden Valley, Huntsville. An annual family-friendly favorite, the Christmas Eve Torchlight Parade can be viewed from the Chalet or the base of the Flying Dutchman. Watch our Snow School instructors and Ski Patrolers descend the Flying Dutchman carrying brightly lit torches in a beautiful procession of lights. Santa even joins in the Parade. Hot chocolate and cookies in the Chalet from 5:00-6:00pm. The Parade begins at 6:00 pm sharp.

NEW YEARS EVE FIREWORKS
Monday, December 31 at Hidden Valley, Huntsville. A family-friendly event, with live music from 5:00-8:00 pm and fireworks at 6:00 pm. Free cookies and hot chocolate starting at 5:00. Bar closes at 8:00 pm.

NEW YEAR’S EVE STARRING THE YES MEN
Monday, December 31 at the Gravenhurst Opera House. Neil Crone, Kevin Frank and Patrick McKenna are Second City Mainstage veterans, and household names in the Canadian Television and Film biz. The Yes Men collectively bring over a thousand years of Improv Comedy experience to the table…in dog years. Playfully interacting with the audience throughout their show, an evening with The Yes Men is completely improvised from start to finish.

NEW YEARS EVE WITH: KC ROBERTS & THE LIVE REVOLUTION
Monday, December 31 at Peter’s Players, Gravenhurst. Drawing comparisons to The Roots, Jamiroquai and Janelle Monae, the band has regularly shared the stage with major international artists including Lettuce, soul legend Lee Fields, Five Alarm Funk, Naturally 7, DJ Q-Bert, Z-Trip and Blue King Brown. The recent tour gave the band an opportunity to show new fans across North America why TD Toronto Jazz Festival Artistic Director, Josh Grossman, calls KCLR “scary good…a blast to hear and just as fun to watch.”

MUSKOKA WEDDING SHOW
Saturday, January 19 at Muskoka Boat and Heritage Centre, Gravenhurst. Featuring all the vendors you will need to make you special day perfect! Guests will be treated to food & beverage sampling, door prizes, and more. Tickets are $10 at the door.

BANFF MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL
January 21 to 23 at the Algonquin Theatre, Huntsville. For over 20 years, Algonquin Outfitters has been bringing the spirit of outdoor adventure and mountain culture to Huntsville, in the form of the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour. This year’s screenings will feature three different nights of the world’s best mountain sport, culture and environmental films, letting you experience the thrill and challenges of the mountain environments that inspire us all. A different selection each night, these shows usually sell out every year.

TAYLOR CUP
January 25 to 26, at Bayview Wildwood Resort in Port Stanton. A two-day round robin tournament with playoffs, that takes hockey back to the basics … on a frozen patch of lake. Teams take to the ice in a 4 on 4 format, with mens’ and women’s divisions. The money raised will benefit Sarcoma Research at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Each team member must raise a minimum of $100 toward their team’s fundraising minimum of $1000.

BRACEBRIDGE FIRE AND ICE FESTIVAL
Saturday, January 26 in downtown Bracebridge. One of Ontario’s can’t miss winter festivals! From their epic downtown tubing hill to an outdoor ice skating trail, live buskers to fireworks, this one-day festival is the ultimate in family winter fun.

OLD MAN FLANAGAN’S GHOST
Saturday, January 26 at the Gravenhurst Opera House. Old Man Flanagan’s Ghost have been bringing a taste of Celtic music to Ontario audiences for years. With their rendition of classic Celtic and east coast covers, traditional fiddle tunes, and 2 albums worth of original tunes dubbed ‘Music with a Celtic Heart’, they often invite the audience to participate in a fun, energetic stage show, that can be enjoyed by all.

THE TARTAN TERRORS
Saturday, January 26 at the Algonquin Theatre, Huntsville. Featuring an arsenal of classic pipes and fiddle, along with driving drum tones, electric bass and signature guitar styles, the band blends traditional folklore, dance, and humor, to create a high energy rock sound, that brings a modern feel to traditional Celtic fare. Following a sold out show in 2017, don’t miss the band’s triumphant return to Huntsville on January 26th!

Sunday, January 27 at Arrowhead Provincial Park, Huntsville. The 2019 edition of the region’s premier cross-country ski event.

KELLY SHIRES BREAST CANCER SNOW RUN
February 1 to 3 at Hidden Valley Resort, Huntsville. Join us for the 20th annual Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Snow Run, an all-women snowmobile event to raise funds for women with breast cancer. As always, we will have some extra special surprises for everyone who participates. On Friday, the meet’n’greet, will kick-off the weekend in Kelly style with a wonderful evening of munchies and good times!

PORT SYDNEY WINTER CARNIVAL
February 1 to 3 in Port Sydney. Come and enjoy the fun at the Port Sydney Winter Carnival.

PORT CARLING WINTERFEST
February 1 to 3 in Port Carling. Fun for the whole family. It is the 52nd Port Carling Winterfest. Come play in the heart of Muskoka. Children’s Entertainment, face painting, horse and wagon rides, log sawing contests, Birds of Prey Demonstration, Chili Cook-Off Contest, etc.

TRUE NORTH COMEDY WEEKEND WITH STEVE PATTERSON
February 1 to 3 at Deerhurst Resort. Funnyman, national radio host and author, Steve Patterson, known to millions of Canadians as the host of the CBC Radio One show, The Debaters, invites you to bundle up, put on your favourite toque, and head north to laugh in the face of winter. NORTH AMERICAN CUP ORIGINAL POND HOCKEY CLASSIC
February 8 to 10, Muskoka Wharf, Gravenhurst. A three-day round robin tournament that takes hockey back to where it was born…..”on the pond”. The 13th Annual is going to be a jam-packed weekend of festivities and rockin good times! There will be a HUGE kickoff celebration, a MASSIVE indoor beer tent all weekend in the Boston Pizza with live entertainment and a pub crawl bus.

DWIGHT WINTER CARNIVAL
February 8 to 9. Come join the winter fun in Dwight.

Saturday, February 9 at Peter’s Players in Gravenhurst. One voice is all it takes. The right vocalist can make you fall in love at first listen, elicit tears, or bring you back to a different era altogether. A microphone and a stage remain the only necessities. That holds true for New York-based soul singer and songwriter Morgan James.

GOOD LOVELIES LIVE CONCERT RECORDING
Saturday, February 9 at Algonquin Theatre, Huntsville. After more than twelve years of touring and over 1000 concerts across Canada, the USA, Australia, Europe and the UK, Good Lovelies have chosen one night – and one night only – to record a live concert for video and album release. This is something they have been preparing for more than a decade – a very special night for the band and one they will always remember. Come be a part of a live concert recording, that will be viewed by Good Lovelies fans around the world. Come and add your voice to the recording. Help them capture this special moment in time.

GRAVENHURST WINTER CARNIVAL
